Linda Lampenius is one of our internationally renowned violinists, having performed worldwide for both royalty and heads of state. Perttu Kivilaakso is familiar from the band Apocalyptica, touring the world at a breathtaking pace. Towards the end of the year, the musicians join forces once again for their second Christmas tour. The atmospheric 12-concert tour kicks off on Sunday, November 26th, at Hyvinkääsali and concludes with a concert at Kuopion Musiikkikeskus on Sunday, December 17th.

Linda and Perttu have selected their favorite songs for the concerts, featuring melodies from the worlds of opera, classical and pop music. This includes Kivilaakso’s own compositions, as well as pieces performed by Apocalyptica and rock ballads. The concerts will also showcase the duo’s expertise in electronic music.

“We promise an all-encompassing evening, where the tones of cello and violin, along with the limitless possibilities of electronic effects, will transport the listener to fantasy worlds, deep meditative states, and a journey through history,” say Linda Lampenius and Perttu Kivilaakso.

According to the theme, the concerts will also include Finnish Christmas and folk songs arranged by Kivilaakso. The performance will feature completely new arrangements created specifically for the tour.

“We both love opera and film music, and we perform our favorite pieces from Rosvo Roope to Tannhäuser. During last year’s tour, we realized that this kind of music fits perfectly with the Christmas theme of the concerts. Of course, Christmas music is also an important part, as Christmas and Christmas concerts are the most significant performances for me,” says Linda.
